Vincent S. Arduini was an outstanding defensive tackle on the Cadet football team from 1973 through 1976, earning four varsity letters and serving as co-captain his senior year. A dominant force in his last two seasons, he received numerous regional and national honors. In 1975, he was named U.P.I. first team All-New England (College Division), moving up to U.P.I.'s second team University Division All-New England as a senior. In 1976, he was also named first team ECAC All-East after twice receiving weekly All-Star honors from that conference for performances against W.P.I (two fumble recoveries and a blocked punt for a TD) and Albany State (a pivotal blocked field goal). U.P.I. then named Vince Honorable Mention All-American.Â
Vince returned to Norwich as a graduate assistant coach, earning his Masters of Athletic Administration in 1979. He later served as an assistant football coach and head wrestling coach at Davidson College in North Carolina before his third tour at NU, 1984-86, found him as the defensive coordinator on the football team and the head wrestling coach. The 1984 football Cadets (9-2) set a school winning record and Coach Arduini's grapplers were 13-10-1 in his two seasons. His peers honored him as Rookie Wrestling Coach of the Year in 1984-85.Â
Currently, Vince is the defensive line coach at Harvard University. He resides in Milford, MA, with his wife, Margarita, and their son Nicholas.Â
