Frederick M. Haynes was a team leader in both football and hockey, starring on the gridiron and on the ice for four years. As a two-way player and captain of the 1957 football squad, he led the Cadets to a 5-3-1 mark and had the reputation of a hard-hitting defenseman in Hockey. Fred gained All-State honors in football and All-New England status in hockey. In addition, Fred was extremely active on campus, serving for four years as class vice-president and on the Honor Committee (Chairman as a junior). He was also a member of Skull and Swords, the Honor Tank Platoon, the Winter Carnival and Junior Week Committees, and the Varsity Club. He continues to serve NU today as a member of the Board of Trustees.Â
A graduate of the Paratroop School at Fort Benning, GA, Fred has served as a captain in the USAR. Fred is President of Haynes Trane Services Agency, Inc., a firm engaged in the sale and service of heating ventilating, and air-conditioning equipment, based in Englewood, CO.Â
Fred has served his community as a councilman in the city of Greenwood Village, CO; as a Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Denver Nuggets (NBA Basketball); as a Director of Micromedex and of the Frontier Bank; and as the Director of the Metropolitan Club of Denver.
A native of Waltham, MA, Fred resides in Englewood, CO with his wife RoxAnn. They have four children, sons Kraig and Kurt and daughters Kymberlee and Kamlyn.Â
