Joseph R. Cottone quarterbacked NU’s football team from1968 to 1970, gaining All-ECAC Division III and All-New EnglandDivision III honors. Jay earned a Masters in Education in PhysicalEducation at Norwich and was a Physical Education teacher and coachfor football, skiing, and track from 1977 to 1981. At the time ofinduction in 1983, Jay was the head football coach at PlymouthState College where he held a 19-game winning streak (19-1 overall,1981-82). Jay has been published in the AthleticJournal.
