Ray Schwarz played soccer and basketball for the Cadets for four seasons. He received All-State honors in 196 and 1970 and co-captained the soccer team. He captained the soccer team. He captained the basketball team and was named All-State in 1971. In 1969, Ray registered his best season with 12 goals and 7 assists for 31 points, the fourth best single season scoring mark in Norwich history. Ray was a member of the Varsity Club and the Physical Club. He also played baseball for one year. Ray earned his bachelor's degree in physical education. Ray has taught at Simsbury (Conn.) High School sine 1973. He has archived outstanding success as a head coach for basketball (298 wins, 155 losses), baseball (257-109) and golf (103-21). He is a member of the Connecticut High School Coaches Association. Ray joins Pat Passalaqua as the fifth and sixth members of the class of '71 to join the Hall of Fame. A native of Sharon, Massachusetts, Ray currently lives in New Hartford, Connecticut. He and his wife, Kathryn, have three daughters Kimberly, Kelly and Kristin.
