In his four-year, 104 game career, Winder notched 46 goals and 58 assists for 104 points. His personal best came in his senior season when he scored 19 goals, 27 assists for 46 points in his senior year earning him ECAC East Player of the Year and First-Team All-American honors. As a freshman, he scored 16 points for the 2003 National Championship team.Â
"Winning the National Championship at home in 2003 was one of my fondest memories of my time at Norwich," Winder said. "The Labor Day parade was also cool. The team walked through the community for the first time. We figured out how much hockey, the team, and the University meant to the local community."Â Â
Winder was also part of one of the most memorable games in Norwich hockey history, a 5-4 Cadet victory over Trinity in the 2003 NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal where Norwich trailed 4-1 at the second intermission and would rally for four goals in the third period.Â
"Coach McShane told us in the locker room in the second intermission that if we won that game, we were going to win the National Championship," Winder said.Â
After graduating from Norwich, Winder played two seasons of professional hockey, one in Holland and one with the ECHL's Augusta Lynx before retiring from hockey in 2008.Â
