Anthony Campano was a four- year letter winner on the Norwich Football team. The Times-Argus gave him he nickname "Mighty Mouse " for his inspired play in spite of his size. Campano's memories of Norwich are "playing football the camaraderie with the corps." Upon graduation, Campano entered the service where he completed two years of active duty in the Corp of Engineers. He spent 19 years in the U.S. Army Reserve rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel. Campano began his business career with Raytheon in their missile systems division, working on intercontinental ballistic missiles. From Raytheon, he moved on to Natick Research Labs where he remained for over eight years. Campano has served on the Norwich Board of Fellow and has been very active in supporting NU students. While at Natick, he was instrumental in providing summer employment for a Norwich Cadet. In 1964, the family purchased a summer home in warren, Vermont, on the famous Roxbury Gap Road, where over the years,Cadets have spent many good times being entrained at the retreat . Tony married Mary LoVetere while still a Norwich Cadet in 1963. The have one daughter, Beth, and two sons, Tony and Matthew. Both of his sons are also Norwich grads, 1991 and 1995, respectively. Campano spent many years playing men's league hockey and beating his son-in-law at golf. Today, he enjoying gardening and helping out a friend with some engineering jobs.
