Francis X. Kasheta was an excellent basketball and baseball player at NU. A three-year starter in both sports, Frank gained numerous honors, being named All-State, All-New England, Little All-American in basketball and serving as team captain in his senior year. he scored a career-high 33 points vs Merrimack as a junior. Equally talented on the diamond, Frank is among NU's all-time pitching leaders in wins and strikeouts, having won 6 consecutive games as a sophomore. He went on to a career in professional baseball with the Boston Red Sox (1963-64) and the San Francisco Giants (1964-67) organizations
At NU, Frank served on the Honor Committee, the Junior Week Committee, and the Ring Committee and was a member of the Newman Club. After graduation, Frank served in the USARÂ and earned a Masters in Education from Worcester State in 1969.Â
Frank is the Chairman of the History Department at Bay Path (MA) Regional High School where he has taught since 1973. He is a member of the Massachusetts Teaching Association, the Massachusetts Vocational Association, the Board of Directors of the Webster/Dudley Boys Club, and the Webster/Dudley American Legion. He was named teacher-of-the-Year in 1983 at Marianapolis Prep. (CT).
Frank has coached basketball, baseball, and soccer at the high-school level in addition to coaching basketball at Nichols College and baseball at Becker Junior College. He is currently an assistant baseball coach at Holy Cross College.Â
A native of Worcester, MA, he resides in Dudley, MA with his wife, Melody. They have a son, Christopher, and four daughters: Stephanie, Alison, Lauren, and Melissa.Â
