Terry Stecker is one of the finest players ever to wear a football uniform at Norwich University. A three-year starter at a time when freshman were not allowed to play for varsity, Terry earned numerous awards for his football ability.

Terry was a 1st Team All-State selection as a defensive lineman in his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He served as the team's co-captain during his senior season. Terry led an NU defense that ranked third nationally in total defense. That 1969 team finished 6-2 and was rated 4th in the season's final Lambert Poll ranking the top teams in the East.

Terry received numerous awards following that 1969 season. He was a first team selection on the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the New England College Division All-Star teams. In addition, he was chosen the Most Outstanding College Football Player in the state of Vermont. He was also named the Outstanding Senior Athlete at Norwich and appeared in the Who's Who of American College Athletes. Perhaps the most notable about Terry's football career is that he never missed a quarter in his three varsity seasons.

Terry was also involved in several other activities during his time at Norwich. He was a member of the Corps Honor Committee in 1967 and 1968 and served as Vice-Chariman of the committee in 1969. Terry was a member of the Skull and Swords, treasurer of the Varsity Club, a member of the Newman Club and a member of Alpha Kappa Psi.

After graduating in 1970 with a degree in business administration, Terry went into active duty in the Army Reserve Commission for two years. He achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant and earned an Army Accommodation Medal during that time.

Upon leaving the service in July of 1973, Terry began a career in banking as a corporate lender. Today, he is the Senior Relationship Manager and Vice-President of First Valley Bank in Pennsylvania. In that capacity, he is responsible for running a portfolio of roughly $60 million.

Terry and his wife, Susan, live in Stewartsville, New Jersey. They have three children; Stewart, Susannah, and Grant.
