A four-year starter and a two-time tri-captain as a junior and asenior for the NU women’s basketball team. Jutras heldrecords for three-point field goals and free-throw percentage onher way to surpassing the prestigious 1,000 career pointsmilestone. She made an immediate impact as a freshman earning teamRookie of the Year honors and then went on to win two straight MVPawards as a junior and a senior.

In her final year in the Maroon & Gold, she led the Cadetsto a 16-10 record and just their second ECAC Tournament bid inprogram history at the time. She also was named to theAll-Tournament teams at Colorado College and Anna Maria whilefinishing her career with 1,245 points. Jutras also played in theNEWBA All-Senior game, scoring the game-winning basket in a 90-89win.   

“I’m extremely honored to be among these amazingathletes,” Jutras said. “Going into the Hall of Famethe same year as my classmate Dave Hamel makes it extra special aswell. I’m humbled by it and its lot of hard work that paidoff in the end.”

Jutras said her favorite memory at Norwich was getting to playalongside her twin sister Michelle for all four years. The twin duoexcelled at both ends of the court with Christine taking the reinsof the scorer, and Michelle leading the way on the defensive end ofthe floor.   

Jutras graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Communicationsand served as the sports editor for the Norwich Guidon studentnewspaper and was a senior producer for Norwich Today, astudent-run TV show that focused on documentaries. She was aRhoades Scholar finalist and helped win a college Emmy award for adocumentary on Vietnam.

Following Norwich, Jutras worked in sales for three years andmarried her husband Charles “Chuck” Burhman. She now isa stay at home mom raising her three children in Harbor, N.H. Shehas a daughter Reagan (11) and two sons, Van (8) and Wyatt (5) thatare all extremely active in sports.
