A four-time all-New England honoree in swimming, Gaidys was a CoSida (Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America)/Capital One collegiate division academic All-American in 2000 when she set the Goodyear Pool record in the 50 meter freestyle and school records in the 50 meter freestyle and as part of the 200 and 400 meter freestyle and medley relays.

"I think the thing I have taken away the most from Norwich is the honor code," said said. "It helped me in many avenues of life."

Gaidys fondly remembers her successes in the pool at the New England Championships. "I really enjoyed that time being with teammates and having strong competition over the course of three days," she said.

Her collegiate athletic career wasn't confined to swimming. She was just as successful on the track qualifying for the New England Championships and the ECAC in the high jump in 1999 and earning All-New England honors in 1998.

Gaidys's post-graduate life has taken her to New Zealand where she worked in the medical field which took her to a hospitalist at St. Vincent Helthcare in Billings, Montana.
