Norwich finished as the No. 2 ranked Division II team in the country after compiling a 13-8 record.  Six of the eight losses came against Division I schools.

NU topped rival Middlebury in two out of the three games they played against each other that season, including a 5-2 victory in the Lake Placid Tournament Championship.

Roger Guillmette led the team with 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points.  Bill O'Neill added nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points in 16 games.  George Kozak and Bob Priestley Jr. rounded out the scoring leaders with Kozak netting 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points, while Priestley had 19 goals and five assists for 24 points.

Guillmette and John Hurnowicz were each named Small College All-Stars and First Team All-State selections.  O'Neill joined them on the Vermont All-State First Team, while Ken Howard and Charlie Holden earned Second Team All-State honors.

The team features at least eight individual Norwich Hall of Fame selections with Hurnowicz, O'Neill, Howard, Guillmette, Holden, Kozak, Art Venezia, and Bruce Beaney all being selected.

The late Bob Priestley served as the head coach of the team, winning New England Small College Coach of the Year honors.  John Norris '60 also served as an assistant coach on the team and is in the Norwich Hall of Fame as well.
