Pecor's junior year brought achievements of scoring 1000 points for the Cadets, being elected MVP of the team and earning a spot on the first team of the CAC. Captain in his senior year, Pecor became Norwich's all-time leading scorer with 2016 points and received MVP honors again. He participated in the N-S Division III All-Star Game, and was elected again to the 1st team of the CAC. Pecor received a degree in Physical Education from Norwich.
Paul Booth, Pecor's Norwich basketball coach, says "Paul had a remarkable career at Norwich and truly developed into a big game player. His impact on the Norwich basketball program was enormous and is still felt today. He brought a competitive nature to the team and helped his team become better." Pecor recalls that his Norwich experience in academics and athletic was "nothing but a positive one."
After graduation, Pecor spent two years as an assistant basketball coach at Champlain College. Pecor turned down an offer to coach at a college in Tennessee so that he could remain in Vermont. He started teaching physical education in Colchester, where he has been for eight years. He teaches in a K-2 school and says that he loves "dealing with the younger age group."
Moving up the age level, Pecor also coaches boys' varsity basketball at Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington. In 2007, his team, the Rice Memorial Green Knights, were Vermont's Division I boys' basketball championship team. Tony Mariano, Director of Athletics, notes Pecor is "one the most successful high school coaches in the state of Vermont."
