Williams was a two-sport star as both a football player and a member of the outdoor track and field team. He was a First Team All-Freedom Football Conference selection, as well as named to the ECAC All-New England team as a defensive back. He was a New England Football Writers First Team selection and was named the team MVP of the Norwich defense as a senior. He totaled 294 tackles, 20 pass breakups, and six interceptions in his career. Williams also competed on the outdoor track team for three years.

“It’s an honor to be inducted into the Norwich Athletic Hall of Fame,” Williams said. “When I found out the news I was finally able to joke with my friends in the Army that the tall tales I had been telling them of my time on the football field at Norwich have been validated. I’ll always cherish the lifelong friends that I made at Norwich. Chico Hernandez and Mark Klaiman were also both instrumental to my success.”

After graduating from Norwich, Williams attended several regional NFL combines. He commissioned in the Army as a 2LT and has pursued a distinguished military career.

Williams served in Germany from 1997-2000 and later in Kosovo and Bosnia twice. He was also stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana for a number of years. He deployed to Iraq for 15 months. He is now a Lieutenant Colonel stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas.

Williams and his wife Marcie have two children; Elijah and Amaya, who is a student at the University of Virginia studying nursing.
