Peter J. Cronin competed in basketball, football, and baseball at Norwich and is best remembered for his gridiron and diamond performances. As a quarterback under Coach Bob Priestley, a fellow Hall of Famer, Pete led the Cadets to a three-year mark of 14-9-2 (.609) and was named first-team All-State quarterback in 1957 and 1958. Pete's prowess extended to the baseball diamond, where the versatile athlete was comfortable at several positions but was a natural behind the plate. A team captain, he had a three-year average of .441 and was signed to a minor league contract by the Boston Red Sox. Pete advanced to the Triple A level, just one step from the big leagues, when an arm injury cut short his career. His back-up started for Boston the following year.

Pete was extremely active on campus. He was president of Theta Chi Fraternity, a member of the Interfraternity Council, Skull and Swords, the Varsity Club, the Newman Club, Alpha Kappa Psi (national business fraternity), and the Junior Week Committee. Pete was also named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Pete served a combined seven years of active and reserve duty in armor and rose to first lieutenant. He has served his community as a member of the Elks Club, the Knights of Columbis, and the Rockville Centre (NY) Country Club. He has also been a coach and sponsor of Little League and Senior League baseball for ten years.

Pete is the owner of the Mollineaux Bros. Oil Corp. in Hempstead, NY. A native of Plattsburgh, NY, Pete resides in Oceanside, NY with his wife, Barbara, and their children, Christopher and Laura.
