Joseph H. Marcewocz os the greatest offensive basketball player in Norwich history, holding the record for career points at 1882 as well as the following marks: most points in a game (51) and in a season (638); highest season average (27.2); most field goals in a game (17) and in a career (746); and most free throws in a game (23), in a season (168), and in a career (382). He received an incredible 15 weekly ECAC Honor Roll awards and an ECAC Player-of-the-week Award, was twice named Vermont Athlete-of-the-Month and was selected ECAC All-New England and All-East his last two years. A three-year team captain and four-time MVP, the smooth forward crowned his illustrious career by being named Norwich's first NABC All-American in 1977.
Joe is active in local gun clubs and offers his time to the local YMCA./ He carries the firearms distinction of Revolver Master and has served as a police officer in Mohawk, NY (1977-1980) and Herkimer, NY (1980-present), his current place of residence.
