Mark Rosow credits his experiences at Norwich with helping him learn leadership skills, time management, business development and strategic planning. "The training and academics prepared me well for my career in business and law," Rosow said.
After graduating with honors from the University in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration, Rosow went on to earn a Juris Doctorate degree from Case Western University in 1972. His professional experiences include Special Deputy Assistant State's Attorney and law firm partner in Connecticut, and wholesale and retail business owner. His current position is corporate counsel and general manager for Renew Windows and Siding LLC.
At Norwich, Rosow played three sports his freshman year - soccer, basketball, and baseball. It was on the soccer field, under the tutelage of Coach Roland "Lefty" Lyford, where Rosow excelled at left wing. He graduated as the university's all-time leader in career points (83) and goals (32). In the 1966 season, he set two single game records with three assists in one game and six points in another. At induction, he ranked sixth all-time in career points and goals, while listing all-time in career assists (19).
During his senior year, Rosow earned other honors. He played in the NEISL championship and was part of the Vermont All-State soccer team. Academically, he was recommended and selected for the 1968-69 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" and was recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate.
"I have very fond memories of playing soccer at Norwich," Rosow said, speaking with great admiration for his former coach and his son, Mickey Lyford, who was a teammate. Lyford played center on the team and the two were friends both on and off the field.
"Norwich offered me the chance to build myself as an individual," Rosow said. "I think every college campus should have a similar first-year experience that Norwich provides for its incoming cadet population."
Rosow lives in West Simsbury, Conn., with his wife, Nancy. He has a daughter, son and stepson. They have two grandchildren.
