A four-year letterman and All-American in his senior season, Beau Almodobar is one of the finest football players to ever play at Norwich. Beau co-captained the 1984 team and played an important role in helping the Cadets to a 9-1 regular-season record and an appearance in the ECAC playoffs. He set what was then a New England record with 71 receptions and 1375 yards and 10 touchdowns that year to earn a spot on both the Pizza Hut and Kodak All-American teams. In addition, he was a First-team ECAC New England selection, receiving ECAC Player of the Week honors three times that fall.

Beau finished his career as the New England record-holder in receptions (153), yards (2909), and touchdowns (22). He graduated with a degree in Physical Education and continued his football career the next fall after signing with the Connecticut Giants of the Atlantic Football League. Beau was named the league’s receiver of the year in 1985 and helped the Giants win the league championship.

Beau joined the New York Giants of the National Football League as a strike replacement player in the fall of 1987 and appeared in five games for the Giants. He completed work on his Master’s degree in Athletic Administration at Springfield College in 1990.

At the time of his induction in 2000, Beau was a physical education teacher and health coordinator at Cyrus Pearce Middle School in Nantucket. He also served as the boys' varsity basketball coach. Beau worked for his community as the executive director of the Boys’ and Girls’ Club, while serving as a member of the board of directors for Common Ground and Nantucket Nectars Beverages. Beau and his wife Elizabeth have one son, Jackson.
