Robert Nolan was three-year letter winner on the Norwich Football team and served as co-captain as a senior . During his junior year, the Cadets went 5-3 and he was named All-State and was voted Norwich Most Valuable Player by the teammates. Nolan penned his feelings about the 1963 season for the Norwich War Whoop. "I think that one of the main reason for the football team had a winning season was to he fact that the team received a lot of support from the Corps. I am sure that if the players work as hard as they did this year, every team that we face will know that they have been in football game. I along with the rest of the team am confident and determined to better the year's record." Nelson also played for three years on the Norwich Basketball team and was a four-year participant in intramural sports. He served as president of the Varsity Club and vice president of the class honor committee. A History-Government major, he made the Dean's List for three years and achieved  the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Corps of Cadets. Professionally,Nolan began his career in the International Division of Xerox Corporation, working in south Africa.Upon returning to the United States, he joined Jantzen, inc., where he spent 12 years processing through a series of increasingly responsible general management positions.
