Robert J. Skinner was a prolific scorer as a hockey forward at NU. Bob stands sixteenth on the all-time scoring list, with 111 points (38 goals and 73 assists) in 64 games. He played on the high-scoring (John) Kennedy - (Dick) Coe - (Bob)Â Skinner line in 1962, a year in which he was the fifth leading scorer in eastern hockey. Noted for his passing skills, bob was among the top assist men in New England throughout his career.Â
Bob's extra-curricular activities included work on the Junior Week, Winter Carnival, Ring, and Honor committees. He was also class President for three years and a member of the Newman Club and the Varsity Club.
Bob served three years in the United States Army, including a tour in Germany, where he coached the U.S. Army soccer team and played for the NATO hockey squad. A company commander, he rose to the rank of first lieutenant. Bob completed his M.S. in Educational Administration at Worcester State in 1975.Â
An assistant hockey coach at Holy Cross College from 1966 to 1975, Bob also operated the Bouvier/Skinner Hockey School from 1966-1974. He is currently an insurance executive with the Lumber Insurance Company of Massachusetts and is President of the 1752 Club, an organization of insurance field men in New England.Â
Bob is a devoted community servant. He is a member of the Juvenile Diabetes Association, the Wachusett Regional High School Booster Club, the Rotary Club, and various youth clubs.Â
