The late John W. Kennedy played baseball and golf at NU but madehis reputation as an ice hockey player. In four seasons he amassed160 career points and is NY's fourth all-time scorer, having playedon some of the highest-scoring line at Norwich. John won theNorwich President's Medal in 1962 for the hockey player with thebbest academic average. He captained the team in his senior year.Among the region's leading scorers, he was selected All-East from1961 to 1963 and named to several all-tournament teams, among themBrown and Cornell. John also appeared in stage productions with thePegasus Players. He later served two years as an officer with theArmy Security Agency. He was an active coach in Little Leaguebaseball and youth hockey for fifteen years. He worked as ChiefExecutive Officer of John W. Kennedy Co., a petroleum equipmentfirm.
