A resident of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Robert Lincoln was heavily involved in his community which resulted in two distinct honors. After years of serving in local politics on the school board, recreation commission, town budget committee, and as a town treasurer, Lincoln was crucial in a construction project resulting in the high school doubling its capacity. There is now a "Robert W. Lincoln Service Award" that is presented annually to a resident who has shown selfless volunteerism to young people. In addition the street leading to the high school is called Robert Lincoln Way.Â
Lincoln credited his work during his senior year at Norwich in the field maintenance department as the base for his interest in improving local facilities. He has spent 25 years as a chairman of the Londonderry School Field Study Committee which has been responsible for construction of numerous local athletic facilities.Â
A Business major at Norwich, Lincoln was a four year player of football, lettering 3 years. He was named the MVP of the Norwich team in 1962 and elected to the All State team for three years, 1960-1962.
After graduating he was commissioned in the US Army and served two years, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He spent two years as a head football coach at Loyola College in Montreal, Canada. After a career at various companies in Material Planning and Purchasing departments, Lincoln retired from Benchmark Electronics in 2007.Â
