Edward J. Meehan was the first 12-letterman in NU history,earning four letters each in football, basketball and baseballwhile being selected All-State in each sport four times. Ed was aLittle All-American nominee in football in 1953. At the time ofinduction, Ed was a law enforcement official, direction recreationprograms designed to prevent juvenile crime in Syosett, N.Y.
