Junior punter Drew Banuskevich (Peterborough, N.H.) of the Norwich University football team has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Banuskevich, who appeared in all 10 games for the Cadets in 2012 and totaled over 1,300 yards in punting offense, is majoring in Sports Medicine and boasts a 3.83 GPA.

"We are very proud of Drew for this accomplishment.  Being an outstanding student-athlete requires a great amount of commitment and discipline, both qualities that Andrew possesses," said head coach Mark Murnyack.

Murnyack added, "This is something that every player in this program strives for and should aspire to achieve. This is everything that college football is about, being one of the nation's top performers in the classroom and on the field.  We are excited to have him back for another year."

Banuskevich averaged 36 yards per punt this season. He recorded a career-long of 59 yards in the Cadets' 20-7 win against St. Lawrence University early in the season and totaled a game-high 220 yards in the season opener against Western New England University.
