Senior Emily Lambert (Riverview, Mich.) of the Norwich University women's ice hockey team was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American At-Large First Team on Wednesday.

Lambert is just the fifth female Norwich University student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-American honors, joining Mary-Kait Mace (women's soccer – 2019), Emily Oliver (softball – 2019), Julie Fortier (women's ice hockey – 2012) and Portia Babcock (women's soccer – 1987).

The CoSIDA Academic All-American program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

The women's at-large category comprises student-athletes from beach volleyball, bowling, rowing/crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.

Lambert was the lone women's ice hockey player in the country to earn At-Large Academic All-American honors this season out of the 45 selections.

"Emily is a rare, and extremely unique talent," said Norwich University women's ice hockey head coach Sophie Leclerc. "She used each day as an opportunity to challenge herself and her teammates to be the best they could be, leading the way on the ice and in the classroom."

Lambert graduated in just three years as a double major in International Business and Spanish with a 4.0 GPA. On the ice, she was named the 2019 NEHC Goalie of the Year after backstopping the Cadets to a NEHC Tournament title.

She compiled a 26-6-1 career record with 11 shutouts to rank sixth in program history.

Lambert also earned 2019 NEHC First Team and All-New England honors from the New England Hockey Writers Association. She is a three-time AHCA Scholar All-American and a two-time NEHC All-Academic selection.

Off the ice, Lambert volunteered with the women's ice hockey team at the Wheels for Warmth annual fundraising event that benefits Central Vermont families in need of heat during the winter.

Lambert is a member of the Delta Mu Delta and Sigma Delta Pi honor societies. She did two study abroad sessions in Costa Rica and Europe.

Lambert also completed two internships with the Henry Ford Corporation in Michigan and the Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation.
