Junior Ann-Frederique Guay (St. Lambert-de-Lauzon, Quebec) of the Norwich University women's ice hockey team was named a College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American on in 2022.
Guay was named to the Third Team, becoming the second women's ice hockey player in the last three years to earn Academic All-American honors after Emily Lambert '20 earned First Team honors in 2020.
Guay is just the sixth female Academic All-American in school history and the third total women's hockey player.
The CoSIDA Academic All-American program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.Â
The women's at-large category comprises student-athletes from beach volleyball, bowling, rowing/crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.Â
Guay earned New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) First Team All-Conference honors this season. She appeared in 24 games over the season tallying 32 points with 16 goals and 16 assists. In her career, she's scored 39 goals and tallied 36 assists for 75 points in 61 games.Â
Guay was named the NEHC Rookie of the Year in 2020 and helped lead the Cadets to their 10th NEHC Tournament title and a NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal appearance.Â
In addition to starring for the Cadets on the ice and in the classroom, Guay has volunteered with the women's hockey team at the Wheels for Warmth event that provides emergency heating assistance for vulnerable Vermonters in winter.Â
Guay was one of just five ice hockey selections out of the 45 NCAA Division III At-Large Academic All-Americans.Â
