ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Following a strong performance at the top of the doubles lineup, the Norwich University men's tennis pairing of Jaxson Redmond (Kennebunkport, Maine) and Terrance Bayly-Henshaw (Scottsville, N.Y.) has been named the Empire 8 Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The honor marks the second career Empire 8 weekly accolade for the duo as a tandem, after the pair also earned Doubles Team of the Week recognition on Apr. 15, 2025.  Redmond and Bayly-Henshaw have continued to serve as Norwich's primary combination in the top doubles flight early in the 2026 campaign.

Competing at No. 1 doubles in Norwich's matchup against Empire 8 divisional opponent Thomas College on Saturday, the pairing delivered a composed and resilient effort in a tightly contested match.  Redmond and Bayly-Henshaw secured a 6-4 victory over the Terriers' top tandem, earning the Cadets' lone doubles win of the afternoon and providing a key point against one of the region's most established programs.

Norwich entered the Thomas contest with a 3-0 record to open the 2026 campaign, matching their best start to a season since the shortened 2021 season.  While Redmond and Bayly-Henshaw did not compete in doubles during Wednesday's win over Vermont State University Johnson, the pair has remained a steady presence at the top of the lineup and a central component of Norwich's early-season success.

The weekly recognition also continues a strong run of Empire 8 honors for Norwich's men's tennis, which collected multiple conference awards during its first season as an affiliate member last year.  Redmond earned Empire 8 Player of the Week accolades last week, after the first week of the regular season.

Norwich will return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 25, hosting intrastate rival Vermont State University Castleton in a non-conference matchup inside Shapiro Fieldhouse beginning at 3:00 p.m.
