Men's Lacrosse: Carr, Fleury, Johnston selected to NEILA All-Academic Team

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Three graduating seniors from the Norwich University men's lacrosse team were named to the 2026 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Academic Team, as announced by the organization.

Robert Carr (Amsterdam, N.Y.), Parker Fleury (Nashua, N.H.), and Alex Johnston (Franklin, Tenn.) each earned the academic recognition after helping lead Norwich through one of its strongest seasons in recent years.

The NEILA All-Academic Team honors student-athletes across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their collegiate careers.  Nominees must have senior or graduate student standing with no eligibility remaining, or no plans to use their eligibility in New England, carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, and be an impact player for their team.

This year's All-Academic Team featured 298 student-athletes from 59 colleges and universities across New England.  Division III accounted for 202 honorees from 39 different institutions.

Carr, a defender and political science major, was a key piece of Norwich's defensive unit during his senior season.  He appeared as one of the Cadets' most consistent close defenders and earned the first All-Conference honor of his career after landing on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Third Team.

Carr finished the 2026 campaign with 19 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, ranking 53rd in the GNAC in caused turnovers.  He recorded a caused turnover in nine games and collected at least one ground ball in 12 contests, including a season-high four ground balls against Emmanuel College during the regular season.

Fleury, an attacker and political science major, was part of the senior class that helped guide Norwich back to the GNAC Semifinals.  He contributed throughout his Norwich career and was part of a group that helped the Cadets remain competitive within one of the conference's deepest postseason fields.

Johnston, an attacker and mechanical engineering major, also closed his Norwich career as part of the Cadets' 2026 senior class.  His selection to the NEILA All-Academic Team recognized his ability to balance the demands of a rigorous academic program with his commitment to the men's lacrosse team.

The academic honors add another postseason recognition to a 2026 campaign that saw Norwich take an important step forward under first-year Head Coach Dylan Curry.  The Cadets finished 9-8 overall and 7-4 in GNAC play, advancing to the conference semifinal round for the first time since 2022.

Norwich's postseason run included a 19-5 GNAC Quarterfinal victory at Emmanuel College before the Cadets pushed eventual conference champion Rivier University to the brink in the semifinal round.  Norwich erased a seven-goal second-half deficit against the previously unbeaten Raiders before falling, 13-11, in one of the league's most competitive postseason contests.

The NEILA All-Academic recognition continues a strong academic tradition for Norwich men's lacrosse, which has regularly placed student-athletes among the region's top academic honorees while competing across New England and the GNAC.
