NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Norwich University men's tennis standouts
Keagan Bakke (Gun Barrel City, Texas) and
Terrance Bayly-Henshaw (Scottsville, N.Y.) have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their excellence both on the court and in the classroom. The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon by CSC (formerly CoSIDA).
Bakke, a mathematics major, earned the honor with a 3.73 cumulative GPA at the time of nomination. One of the most accomplished players in program history, Bakke served as the Cadets' No. 1 singles competitor throughout the 2025 campaign, finishing with a 10-1 record on the top court.
He also posted a 7-4 record in doubles action alongside
Gabe Wettig (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) at the No. 2 position. Bakke was named Empire 8 Player of the Week twice this spring and earned First Team All-Empire 8 East Division honors in singles and Second Team honors in doubles.
Bayly-Henshaw, a civil engineering major, compiled a 3.83 cumulative GPA at the time of nomination. The sophomore delivered a perfect 11-0 singles record at No. 2 singles and went 9-2 at No. 1 doubles with teammate
Jaxson Redmond (Kennebunkport, Maine).
A model of consistency and composure, Bayly-Henshaw earned Empire 8 Player of the Week honors, was named to the Empire 8 First Team in both singles and doubles, and represented Norwich on the Empire 8 Men's Tennis Sportsman of the Year Team.
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District® honors, student-athletes must be a sophomore or older, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and compete in at least 70 percent of their team's competition dates throughout the season.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately honors student-athletes across NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
The recognition for Bakke and Bayly-Henshaw caps a historic season for the Cadets, who finished 10-4 overall and 4-1 in Empire 8 play. Norwich reached the Empire 8 Semifinals and earned its first home playoff match and postseason victory since 2015, while accumulating seven total weekly conference honors throughout the spring.
