WINTHROP, Mass. - For the second time this season, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) recognized
Seth Varin (Danielson, Conn.) as its Runner of the Week, the Conference announced Monday afternoon.
Varin has consistently been one of the Cadets' top finishers all season, including a third-place finish at Friday's Norwich Cadet Invitational, where he clocked a time of 27:31.50 in the 8K race, helping Norwich earn a second-place finish on its home course. His performance is also the conference's best on an 8K course this season, and the best individual time by a Norwich runner since 2019.
The senior received GNAC Runner of the Week plaudits back on Sept. 8, after his third-place finish at the Maple Syrup Challenge at Vermont State University Randolph. The honor marks the third weekly award ever for Varin, after he received GNAC Rookie of the Week back on Oct. 16, 2023.
Varin will look to continue his strong senior campaign as the maroon and gold march towards a second straight GNAC Championship. Before that, they will compete at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 11, followed by their final tune-up on Oct. 18Â at Western New England.
