WINTHROP, Mass. - Senior
Seth Varin (Danielson, Conn.) closed out the regular season on a high note, earning Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Runner of the Week plaudits for the third-straight time, the Conference announced Monday afternoon.
Varin continues to set personal records. He set a new best time of 27:04.72 at Saturday's 8K Golden Bear Invitational, hosted by Western New England. Like his last three performances, Varin's time was the best in the conference as he continues to make program history with the best 8K time in six years.
This marks the fourth time in his career that Varin has been honored by the GNAC as the league's Runner of the Week. On top of three-peating as Runner of the Week, he won it on Sept. 8 after his performance at the Maple Syrup Challenge. Before that, he received Rookie of the Week plaudits on Oct. 16, 2023.
Varin will look to round out his historic season on his home course when the Cadets host the GNAC Championships on Nov. 2. Â
