Northfield, VT. – Head Football Coach
Mark Murnyack has named two new assistant coaches to the football staff. Dominic Bornman will serve as the Offensive Coordinator and Matt Evans will be an Offensive Assistant Coach.
Bornman enters his first year at Norwich University as the Offensive Coordinator. Bornman comes to Norwich after coaching for three seasons at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan in Buckhannon, WV.
At West Virginia Wesleyan College, Bornman was the Quarterbacks coach and Recruiting Coordinator in the 2021-22 seasons after coaching the Wide Receivers in 2020. Bornman arrived in Buckhannon after serving as an assistant coach at Illinois College, where he also was the athletic department's Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
At Illinois College, Bornman coached the Blueboy Quarterbacks in 2018 before being tasked with Special Teams Coordinator and Running Back duties in 2019. During the 2017 season, Bornman was at Dickinson College where he served as the Wide Receivers coach and Co-Special Teams Coordinator.
From 2014-16, Bornman was the wide receivers coach at Lycoming College. His first coaching stop came as the Wide Receivers coach at Trinity High School in Camp Hill, PA., in 2013.
The Mechanicsburg, PA. native played football at Juniata College and graduated in 2012 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology/Digital Media.
Evans brings 11 years of experience to Norwich. Prior to his appointment to Norwich Football, Evans was an assistant coach at fellow Division III Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. While at Rose-Hulman, he was the Special Teams Coordinator as well as coaching Wide Receivers, Tight Ends, and Running Backs during his tenure. Under his guidance Rose-Hulman had the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Special Teams Player of the Year and led the conference in Kickoff Return yards. Offensively, the Fightin' Engineers were an explosive offense setting season records for total offense, passing yards, and scoring offense. Additionally, the offense had four of the top ten leading receivers in the HCAC.
During the 2015-16 seasons, Evans was an assistant coach at Division II Walsh University in North Canton, OH. Evans mentored the Running Backs and Wide Receivers in addition to being the Video Coordinator for the football team. Evans got his college coaching start at nationally ranked Division II Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, OH., as a graduate assistant.
Evans graduated from Ohio State University in December 2014 with a degree in Sport Industry.
The Cadets reported for preseason camp on August 9
th and will travel to Husson University to open the season on September 2
nd.
