RUTLAND, Vt. - The Norwich University men's tennis team fell 6-3 to Castleton University on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Grand Slam Tennis.
Norwich (2-2) ended up splitting the season series with Castleton after beating the Spartans 7-2 in the season opener.
Freshman Dimitry Mucha (Harwinton, Conn.) improved to 4-0 on the season in singles action with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Mucha and Peter Wisowaty (Palo Alto, Calif.) combined to win No. 2 doubles 8-6 for the Cadets' lone doubles win.
Senior William Flowers (Mansfield, Texas) picked up the win at No. 6 singles, 7-6 and 7-5.
Wisowaty dropped a tough three-set match at No. 4 singles, while sophomore Patrick O'Neal (Indiana, Pa.) also fell in a three-set match at No. 1 singles.
Norwich travels to Regis next Saturday for a 2 p.m. GNAC matchup with the Pride.
