NORTHFIELD, Vt. Several members of the Norwich University Wrestling team earned preseason accolades.

On Friday evening, the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) released their preseason rankings with three Cadets included. In the 165 pound weight class senior Cameron Wooldridge (Roanoke, Va.) is currently ranked seventh. Last season Wooldridge competed at Division III regionals where he was defeated in a 14-7 decision. Also included in the NEWA rankings in the 285 pound class is Mason Sprinkel (Bel Air, Md.) at eighth and Joseph Lotruglio (Andover, N.J.) at fifth in the 145 pound class.

The most notable ranking goes to junior Kyle Merritt (Hope Valley, R.I.) who is the NEWA's top ranked wrestler in the 157 pound class along with being fifth in NCAA Division III coming off a year where he posted a 25-5 record and placed seventh at the Division III National Championships.
The Cadets open their Wrestling season with the two day Ithaca Invitational beginning Friday November 4^th at 3 PM.
