HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Norwich University men's tennis team took the top two singles positions, but it wasn't enough as Penn State Behrend used depth to take down the Cadets 7-2 on Wednesday in spring break action at the Hilton Head Spring Tennis fest.
Junior Alexi Gilmore (Haverhill, Mass.) took No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2 over Michael Duckett, while sophomore Timothy Santy (San Antonio, Texas) won No. 2 singles by a 6-2, 6-4 score over Noah Colvin.
The first doubles team of Gilmore and Noah Stillman (Danbury, Conn.) fell 8-5 to Mason Harbaugh and Jimmy Lobdell in the closest pairs contest of the day.
Norwich closes out its spring break trip on Thursday when it takes on Penn State Harrisburg.
