Men's Tennis: Cadets march past Muskingum, 6-3

ZANESVILLE, OHIO - The Norwich University men's tennis team picked up its third win of its spring break trip with a 6-3 victory over Muskingum University on Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore Noah Stillman (Danbury, Conn.) led Norwich with two victories on the day at the No. 4 singles spot and No. 2 doubles. Stillman beat Derek Yost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and teamed with Dylan Ackerman (Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands) to take No. 2 doubles by an 8-0 score. 

Abbie Barker (Warren, Vt.) and Timothy Birnbaum (Mahwah, N.J.) each went 2-0 as well with a forfeit victory at No. 3 doubles, as well as singles victories. Barker won No. 6 singles by forfeit, while Birnbaum beat Seth Miles 6-0, 6-0.  

Sophomore Alexi Gilmore (Haverhill, Mass.) continued his remarkable second-year campaign with another victory at No. 2 singles by 6-0, 6-0 scores over Levi Hall. Gilmore is now 5-2 on the season in singles action. 

Muskingum took No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, buoyed by Armando DiMichaelangelo. DiMichaelangelo beat Ackerman 6-1, 6-3 in No. 1 singles and then teamed with Carl Patton to win No. 1 doubles 8-4. 

Norwich improved to 4-3 on the season and will close out its spring break trip with Grove City and Baldwin Wallace on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and Friday at 6 p.m. respectively.
