NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Thanks to a stifling defensive effort and a big day from the offensive unit, the Norwich University men's lacrosse team cruised to an 18-3 victory over the Albertus Magnus Falcons on Saturday afternoon.  

It was all Norwich from beginning to end during the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) faceoff against the hosting Falcons, as the Cadets outshot Albertus Magnus by a huge 76-14 advantage and only allowed three goals on a mere eight shots on goal from the Falcons. 

Freshman Payden Masaracchia (Enola, Pa.) had the best game of his young career with four goals and an assist for a five-point day. Josh Jenkins (Centennial, Colo.) continued to lead the offense with two goals and two assists, while Brandon Milburn (Bridgewater, N.J.) made a pair of saves in 30:00 between the pipes to pick up the win. The Norwich defense stifled the Albertus Magnus attack all day, holding the Falcons to just seven shots in the second half and causing 31 turnovers on the day. 

With the victory, NU improves to 6-5 this year and a 3-1 mark within the GNAC. Next up for Norwich is an April 11 road game against the Lasell Lasers at 4:00 PM.
