Men's Lacrosse: #1 Cadets set to take on #4 Monks in GNAC Semifinals, Preview

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The number one overall seed Norwich University men's lacrosse team will ride an eight-game winning streak into the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Semifinals, where they will host the number four seed Monks of Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Wednesday night at Sabine Field.

The Cadets breezed through the quarterfinal round with a resounding 16-2 victory over the Anna Maria AMCATS, led by a suffocating defensive effort that didn't yield a goal after the first quarter and five goals from senior Ian Kennedy (Gloucester, Mass.)

Saint Joseph's had a tougher time picking up their quarterfinal victory, as they needed three overtime periods to dispatch the Rivier Raiders by an 11-10 final score on Saturday. Michael Finn scored three goals for the Monks, including the game-winner with 1:59 left in the third overtime.
