STANDISH, Maine - The Norwich University men's lacrosse team pulled out a 10-6 victory over the Huskies of the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon, in a non-conference matchup played at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. 

The Cadets came out hot in the first quarter, as Josh Jenkins (Centennial, Colo.) got the scoring going early with his fourth goal of the season barely five minutes into the game. Aidan Moulton (Danvers, Mass.) added one of his own off an assist from Cody Moore (Canton, N.Y.) to make it 2-0 Norwich after one quarter. 

Moore added a man-up goal in the second to extend the Norwich lead, but USM finally found the back of the night twice in one minute to tighten the score to 3-2. Jack Anzalone (Ridgewood, N.J.) put one in with thirty seconds left in the half to give Norwich a little breathing room and a 5-3 lead at the half. 

After the Huskies scored the opening goal of the second half, NU put up five unanswered goals, including three in a row from senior Ian Kennedy (Gloucester, Mass.), to give themselves all the space they needed to take the game by a 10-6 final score. 

Kennedy led the way with his first hat trick of the season, while Jenkins and Anzalone added two goals apiece. The Cadets outpaced the Huskies in shots on goal (23-16) and caused turnovers (8-3) while Ian Kriger (Burlington, Mass.) made 10 saves to pick up his second win of the season between the pipes. 

The win brings the Cadets overall record up to 2-2 on the season, as they look to keep the momentum rolling into their next game on Wednesday, March 21st at Castleton. That game will also serve as the Connor Roberts Memorial Game for both teams.
