Box Score DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Norwich University men's lacrosse team got their 2018 season going on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Corsairs of UMass.-Dartmouth by a 13-10 final score.
Josh Jenkins (Centennial, Colo.) got the Cadets on the board early with an unassisted goal five minutes into the game to give Norwich an early 1-0 advantage. After a goal by the hosting Corsairs, Norwich rattled off five straight unanswered goals and headed into halftime with a 6-2 advantage. The second half was much the same, as the Norwich offensive attack kept the game out of UMass.-Dartmouth's reach from end-to-end as the Cadets walked away with their first victory of the young season.
Josh Jenkins and Cody Moore (Canton, N.Y.) each notched a hat trick for the Cadets, while Matt Shea (Arlington, Mass.) and Ian Kennedy (Gloucester, Mass.) each notched two goals of their own. Ian Kriger (Burlington, Mass.) made 20 saves on 30 shots on the day to pick up his first win of the year.
Next up for NU is their home opener next Saturday, March 3, when the Coast Guard Academy comes to Sabine Field for a 1:00 matchup.
