PORTLAND, Maine – Sophomore Aidan Moulton (Danvers, Mass.) scored a team-leading three goals for the Norwich University men's lacrosse team on Saturday, helping the Cadets to a decisive 12-3 victory over Saint Joseph's College (Maine). 

Norwich improves to 5-6 on the season, moving to 2-1 against Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponents in 2017. The Monks dip to 3-6 on the year, losing their second tilt in three games against league foes. 

Junior Josh Jenkins (Centennial, Colo.) dished out four assists on the afternoon, leading the team in point scoring, while freshman Kyle Maxim (Dracut, Mass.) and sophomore Cody Moore (Canton, N.Y.) scored twice for the Cadets. Norwich remains undefeated against Saint Joseph's, leading the all-time series by a commanding 8-0 margin since the first-ever meeting on Apr. 23, 2011. 

Moulton scored the lone goal of the first quarter off a feed from Jenkins, creating a 1-0 lead for Norwich through the first 15 minutes. With the score tied at one only 34 seconds into the second quarter, the Cadets rattled off three-straight goals to capture the lead for good in the tilt. 

Ahead by a 4-2 margin at the half, Norwich scored the game's next six goals before a man-up tally by Saint Joseph's Matt Donnell cut into the Cadets streak. Two-straight goals by Norwich down the stretch created the final score of 12-3. 

Sophomore Ian Kriger (Burlington, Mass.) earned the win for Norwich, making nine saves on 12 shots. Connor Trainor made seven saves on 17 shots for the Monks, drawing the loss. Wyatt Porter yielded goals on both shots he faced across 7:07 of relief for Saint Joseph's. 

The Cadets head to Mount Ida College for a key GNAC game this Tuesday, Apr. 11 at 6 p.m.
