PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Norwich wrestling program put on a solid performance on the road against the Plymouth State Panthers on Wednesday evening but ultimately fell by a 27-19 final score.
Jacob Forsman (Voorhees, N.J.) opened things up for Norwich with a 15-2 major decision victory over Sam Goldberg. His younger brother Ben Forsman (Voorhees, N.J.) wasn't going to let himself be outdone, so he defeated Steve Abusherry by fall (6:10) to put Norwich up 16-0 right away.
The hosting Panthers responded with back to back wins, before Donte Jones (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) brought the momentum back to the Maroon & Gold with a 12-7 decision victory over Tom Hamel to make it 19-9 Norwich.
Plymouth State came roaring back with four straight victories over Cadet wrestlers, and Norwich was unable to regain control of the match, dropping it by a final score of 27-19.
The Cadets won't be back in action until 2018 when they travel to Johnson & Wales (RI) for a tri-match on the 14th of January.
