WINCHESTER, Mass. – The Norwich University men's tennis team fell 7-2 to former Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Emerson College on Friday afternoon in non-conference action.
Norwich (1-4) won points at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 singles after sophomore Mason Madison (Lebanon Conn.) and freshman Sam Beiter (Youngstown, N.Y.) took the third doubles flight 8-6 over Blake Greenawalt and Matt Jepsky.
Junior Tyler Eagan (Verona, N.J.) also posted a victory at No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-4 win over Greenawalt to account for the Cadets' victories on the day.
Junior Jay Carter (Glassboro, N.J.) and Beiter both took their singles opponents to three sets after they won the opening set, however they each dropped the second and third set at No. 2 singles and No. 6 singles.
Norwich returns to action on Wednesday, March 30 when it hosts Johnson State at 3 p.m. in Shapiro Field House. The match will be video-streamed live on www.nsnsports.net/colleges/norwich
