Norwich jumped ahead on a Thomas goal just 54 seconds into the game but DWC tied it 2:13 later on Downie's first goal of the game off a McGrath feed. The Cadets responded by scoring the next six goals, including two more from Thomas and two from Fuller before Hamilton's goal for the Eagles with 8 seconds remaining in the quarter made it a 7-2 game after one.

Downie potted his second of the game 46 seconds into the second, but Norwich answered with three straight before Cotoni netted his only score with 7:04 remaining and the Cadets took a 10-4 lead into the break.

Lavery would net two in the third and Daigle added one for a 13-4 game heading into the fourth and the Cadets extended the lead with 15-4 before McGrath notched his score with 12:26 for a 15-5 game.

Norwich would close it out with goals from Lavery, Daigle and Joe Wood (White River Jct., Vt.) over the final four minutes.

Norwich finished with a 27-11 shots on goal advantage and earned decisive wins on the faceoff (20-6) and groundballs (33-16). Both senior Brett Sewing (Brattleboro, Vt.) and freshman Joe Wood (White River Junction, Vt.) won 10 face-offs each. Connor McMahon (Norwich, Conn.) had a team-best four ground balls.
