NORTHFIELD, Vt.- The Norwich University
wrestling team played host to Plymouth State University in a dual
meet Wednesday evening at Andrews Hall.
The Panthers picked up a narrow 23-22 victory in a
back-and-forth affair.
Freshman Chase Jefferys (Topsfield, Mass.) picked up a
12-4 major decision win over Alex Otis in the 125 pounds weight
class with senior Alex
Stewart (Elicott City, Md.) taking down Mike Allen by
a pinfall at 2:30 at 133 pounds.
Senior Will
Burns (Mascoutah, Ill.) thrilled the crowd with a
pinfall win in 4:28 over Taylor Lozier at 174 pounds, while senior
Steve Maldonado (Nyack, N.Y.) nabbed a
pinfall win 3:50 into his heavyweight bout against Zack
Stewart.
The Cadets are next in action on Saturday, November
15th when they travel to the Roger Williams Invitational
hosted by Roger Williams University. That tourney is set to start
at 10 a.m.
