NORTHFIELD, Vt. -The Norwich University
wrestling team hosted Springfield College in a dual meet at Andrews
Hall Wednesday night.
The Pride (second in the New England Wresting Association poll
and 20th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association
poll) topped the Cadets (seventh in the NEWA) 30-7.
Junior Steve Maldonado (Nyack, N.Y.) defeated Irakli
Kakauridze by a 3-1 decision at 285 pounds.
Junior William Burns (Mascoutah, Ill.) topped Vincent
Silano by a 12-3 major decision.
Senior Dave
Pinto (Milford, Mass.) (second in the NEWA Rankings)
fell to Dylan Foley (third in the NEWA) 3-1 in a match that went to
sudden victory overtime.
The Cadets are next in action on January 26th, when
they travel to the New England Duals hosted by Bridgewater State
University.
