NORTHFIELD, Vt. -The Norwich University
wrestling team hosted Roger Williams University in a dual meet on
Saturday.
The Hawks topped the Cadets 33-10 in the match that was hosted
at Norwich's Plumley Armorey.
Junior Alex
Stewart (Ellicott City, Md.) picked up a win over Matt
Elias with a 13-3 major decision in the 133 pound weight class.
Senior captain Tyrell Carstarphen (Topeka, Ks.) defeated Max
Nelson by a 6-2 decision in the 141 pound weight class.
Senior Anthony Joyce (Lincoln, R.I.) picked up a 6-0
decision over Kyle Foster at 285 pounds.
Senior Dave
Pinto (Milford, Mass.) lost a hard fought match by a
5-4 decision against nationally-ranked Collin Crowell
(4th) at 165 pounds, with junior teammate William Burns (Mascoutah, Ill.) falling to Dan
Ressler by a 4-3 decision at 174.
This was the Cadets final match of the first semester; they will
travel to Mount St. Vincent on January 11, 2014 for their next
match.
