Rochester, N.Y.—The Norwich University wrestling team placed ninth out of the 11-team field Saturday at the RIT Invitational in Rochester, N.Y.

The Cadets had a number of minor injuries that prohibited them from competing at full strength but Norwich still saw impressive performances from junior Anthony Joyce (Lincoln, R.I.) and junior Dave Pinto (Milford, Mass.).

Joyce won two matches in the opening bracket of the 285-pound division and added more victories in the consolation bracket to finish fourth overall in the weight class.

Pinto continues to a consistent threat for the Cadets, placing third 165 pounds after picking six consolation bracket victories.

Sophomore Alex Stewart (Ellicott City, Md.) placed fifth at the 125-pound division for the Cadets while Steven Maldonado (Nyack, N.Y.) also finished fifth at 285 pounds.

Norwich is back in action December 8 when they travel to Roger Williams.
