Worcester, Mass.—The Norwich University wrestling team could not carry the momentum of its mid-week victory against Plymouth State into the weekend, falling 49-6 to Southern Maine and 34-21 to WPI in a tri-meet Saturday.
In the opening match against Southern Maine, the Cadets lone victory came at 197-pounds as sophomore Aaron Hunt (Marshfield, Mass.) got his second pin in as many matches against the Matthew Babar. The pin was responsible for all six points the Cadets put up on the scoreboard.
In the second match against the Engineers, Hunt was victorious by pin once again, continuing his recent hot streak.
The Cadets also got victories from freshman Richard Glazier (Peabody, Mass.) at 125 pounds, Tyrell Carstarphen (Topeka, Kansas) at 149 and Alex Lawrence (Ledyard, Conn.) at 285. Lawrence also won by win while Carstarphen won by decision, 8-3.
Norwich will be back in action Dec. 1 at the RIT Invitational.
