NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich men's tennis team lost to in-state rival Castleton 5-4, in its 2011 home debut on Thursday afternoon at Shapiro Fieldhouse.

The Cadets (0-3) got singles wins from Collin Hyte, Christian Hoskey, and Luis Galvez, while the doubles team of Hoskey and Graham Oliveira accounted for the other Norwich win.

Galvez beat Willie Levine at fourth singles for his first career win by scores of 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.

Hoskey (2-1) beat Kevin Eisenberg at second singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-1, while Hyte (2-1) downed Justin Garritt at first singles 6-1, 6-3.

Hoskey and Oliveira teamed up to beat Levine and Cavin Henry 8-4 at second doubles.

Norwich lost to Castleton 6-3 in its season opener on March 9.

The Cadets return to action on Friday when they travel to Green Mountain College for a 5 p.m. match start.
