SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Senior Nick Monaco went
3-2 at 141 pounds, and sophomore Raistlin Delisle authored a 3-2
mark in the heavyweight bracket to lead the Norwich University
wrestling team to an 18th-place showing at the 20th annual Doug
Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College on Saturday.
The Cadets accumulated 25.0 points to place last in the 18-team
field. Williams College racked up 136.0 points to capture the team
title. Brockport (133.5 points) and Wesleyan (124.5) finished
second and third, respectively.
Monaco, who has been one of the Cadets' most consistent
performers all year long, collected three pins in the 141-pound
draw. Delisle, meanwhile, picked up a pair of wins by fall in the
heavyweight competition.
Elsewhere, senior Ryan Crosby went 2-2 with a technical fall at
157 pounds, and sophomore Ray Gauthier posted a 2-2 mark with a pin
and a technical fall at 184 pounds.
Norwich returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 5, when the Cadets
host WPI in a dual meet at NU's Plumley Armory. The first bout is
slated to begin at 1:30 p.m.
